Louisville-born producer John Alagia splits his time between his room at LA's iconic Village Recorder studios and his waterfront studio on Maryland's Eastern Shore. A multi-instrumentalist, engineer, mixer and singer/songwriter himself, John established his reputation by recognizing and developing talent from the earliest stages and is responsible for the recordings that launched John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Dave Matthews, and many others.
Since then he has worked with a steady stream of artists across genre's including Lifehouse, Brett Dennen, Rachael Yamagata, Liz Phair, Shawn Colvin, Simon and Garfunkel and many others. As a producer, he believes in helping each artist achieve their own unique vision rather than imposing his own aesthetic. John is also a skilled and devious ping pong player and known to take down his opponents mercilessly.
